About
Conures
Found
in most of South and Central America, Conures are friendly, peaceful
birds that live together in groups of twenty or more birds in the
wild. There are five different types of Conures which sport a variety
of vibrant colors. These rather loud birds have wonderful, playful
personalities that are a constant source of delight for their owners.
Highly intelligent as many pet birds are, Conures can easily be taught
to talk, although their speech is not as clear as that of some other
parrot species. Conures are renowned for their playful, gentle and
affectionate dispositions. They bond easily with their owners and
require plenty of love and attention to keep them healthy and happy.
The Conures life span is from 10 to 25 years and they require plenty
of love, care and attention throughout their lives. As with all
intelligent, affectionate pet birds, it is important to be aware of
the responsibilities that go along with ownership. Be sure to visit
the Pet Bird
Bookstore for owner's guides to a variety of wonderful pet birds.
