About Brotogeris (Pocket Parrots)

Small, mostly green birds with long beaks and plenty of energy, this species includes the grey cheeked parakeet, canary winged parakeet and orange chinned parakeet. Sometime called "Pocket Parakeets", these adorable little creatures love to climb into your pockets or under your clothing. These little chatterboxes are very charming, feisty and fun. Despite the diminutive size, these birds will easily win your heart with their very large personalities! Brotogeris can be taught to speak a few words, and are a bit louder than Cockatiels, Budgies or Grey Cheek Parakeets - but still reasonably quiet.
