Amboina King Parrots
Originating in New
Guinea and the Sula Islands, Amboina Kings are absolutely beautiful birds with spectacular
ruby red, sapphire blue and emerald green coloring. These parrots, when hand-fed and from
a reputable breeder, are sweet, affectionate parrots that make excellent companion birds.
Although they can learn to say a few words, Amboinas are quiet birds - welcome in most
homes or apartments. The can mimic many sounds that they hear including whistles and
laughs. They love to eat and really enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables. Average length from
top of head to tip of tail is 14 inches. As with all intelligent, affectionate pet
birds, owning one requires a firm commitment to providing the care and attention the bird
needs in order to thrive. If you are considering making a an Amboina Parrot a part
of your family, be prepared to spend at least a few hours each day playing and cuddling
with your bird.
